This was very helpful in terms of identifying where existing packaging has faults and how users interact with the different parts of the packaging. It was also interesting to see how much people rely on their own knowledge before seeking it out on the medication.
Takeaways from original packaging
Looking at the results from the ‘Easy Check’ pregnancy test, which we are going to pursue, these are the key things we found.
Positives:
- Instructions on the pouch were easy to understand, especially due to the diagram.
- The 99% accurate was a good reassurance.
Negatives:
- Information overload, users were stressed finding specific information
- Sexist – due to colours
- Iconography that couldn’t be understood.
- Couldn’t understand or find expiry date.
- Found highly repetitious, overwhelmed.
